OZARK A&P COMMISSION / FUNDING RESOURCES

Funding & Grants

The Ozark Advertising & Promotions Commission considers funding requests for projects, services, events, and activities that support tourism and advance purposes authorized under Arkansas law.

Applicants should review the current funding status, eligibility guidance, and documentation requirements before submitting a request.

Eligibility & Review

A&P funding must support purposes authorized by Arkansas law and applicable City ordinances.

Depending on the applicable statutory requirements, eligible purposes may include tourism promotion, qualifying cultural and arts programming, tourism facilities, and public recreational facilities.

Applicants should explain:

  • Who will travel to Ozark because of the proposed project.

  • How the project will reach visitors outside the immediate community.

  • How it supports tourism, arts, culture, recreation, or other qualifying purposes.

  • Its expected attendance, overnight visitation, and local economic impact.

  • How the applicant will document results and use of funds.

Understanding Funding Restrictions

Under Arkansas Code § 26-75-606, A&P revenues may not be used for general city or county operating expenses, general capital improvements, or unrestricted subsidies to civic groups or the Chamber of Commerce.

The Commission may, however, contract with qualifying organizations for actual services connected with tourism events or conventions, as permitted by law.

A proposal's tourism benefits do not automatically make every expense eligible. Each request must be evaluated under the applicable statutory requirements.

Submitting an application does not guarantee funding.

Applications & Forms

Organizations and individuals interested in requesting funding should complete the Commission's official application and provide information about the project, anticipated tourism benefits, requested amount, proposed expenditures, and supporting documentation.

Funding proposals are subject to Commission review, applicable requirements, and approval. Submission does not guarantee consideration at a particular meeting or authorization to incur expenses.
